A customer from Estonia requested a custom crane which can be used in an explosion proof environment. By default cranes do not support this feature automatically. For this so-called ATEX guidelines apply, in which a crane has to meet the requirements before the crane can be put operative in an explosive proof environment.

On the basis of a standard Hiab crane type XS 144 D-5, SIOS B.V. made adjustments and enhancements with components so that it complies with the ATEX 95 guidelines (ATEX zone: II 3G IIB T3).
